WilmerHale Sues Against DJT Order Targeting Them

WilmerHale, a “big law” firm, filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump’s executive order targeting them.

Trump is trying to revoke their attorneys’ security clearances and close down their ability to do business with the government. The firm says he is retaliating against them for their work in the past for past clients or causes he dislikes.

WilmerHale’s lawsuit, represented by Paul Clement who has argued at the Supreme Court, says “The First Amendment protects the rights of WilmerHale, its employees, and its clients to speak freely, petition the courts and other government institutions, and associate with the counsel of their choice without facing retaliation and discrimination by federal officials.”

Robert Mueller, who served as the special counsel at the lead of the investigation into Trump’s ties with Russia, used to work for WilmerHale.
