USA and UK Refuse to Sign Paris Declaration about AI

Although 60 countries signed a declaration to set priorities regarding Artificial Intelligence, the USA and UK refused to sign. More may sign later.

The document says priorities include “ensuring AI is open, inclusive, transparent, ethical, safe, secure and trustworthy, taking into account international frameworks for all” and “making AI sustainable for people and the planet.”

The USA through its Vice President J.D. Vance complained that Europe regulates technology too much. The UK complained that the declaration doesn’t go far enough.
