DOJ Orders NY Federal Prosecutors to Drop Charges Against Eric Adams

| 0

The Department of Justice ordered New York federal prosecutors to dismiss all charges against NYC Mayor Eric Adams. The charges allege corruption.

Dismissal is ordered by federal Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove to be without prejudice, leaving it possible for charges to be filed again in the future.

Adams’ pardon came on top of his release of new guidance he issued to city workers not to interfere with federal immigration personnel and not to criticize the new regime through social media. New York City is a self-declared sanctuary city.

In mid-December, Donald Trump said he could consider pardoning Adams. The possibility of having charges revived will instead leave Adams needing to keep Trump mollified.
