Undersea Cables Cut in the Red Sea

| 0

Multiple undersea cables in the Red Sea were severed, disrupting internet data flow in portions of the Middle East and Asia.

Affected countries included India and Pakistan. Some countries likely to have been affected did not publicly acknowledge any impact, such as Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Affected cable systems included SMW4, IMEWE and FALCON GCX cable systems.

Although there have been concerns about targeting of the cables by Houthi rebels in Yemen, in the past Houthis have denied attacking the cables. They are not claiming association with the latest cuts.
