UK Awards £67M Contract Extension to Firm at Center of Post Office IT Scandal

| 0

His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs gave a one year contract extension worth £66.8 million to Fujitsu to run the Trader Support Services, despite Fujitsu’s provision of the faulty Horizon IT system to the Post Office.

Trader Support Services provides information on post-Brexit customs declarations and other red tape to businesses that trade between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Horizon caused hundreds of sub-postmasters to be wrongfully prosecuted for theft and false accounting they did not commit.

Fujitsu no longer bids for new UK government contracts, but the extension is not regarded as a new contract.
