EPA Grants Halted and Over 1100 EPA Workers Warned of Immediate Firing
Environmental Protection Agency grant recipients were locked out of the grant system while over 1100 EPA employees were warned they can be terminated immediately.
Grant recipients could not meet payroll obligations, pay vendors, etc. due to the funding cut-off. Most EPA grants are appropriated, legal obligations of the agency.
Probationary EPA workers (those who have been in their jobs less than a year) received email saying they can be terminated from their roles immediately.
