Three Top Hegseth Staffers Under Investigation Regarding Leaks of Sensitive Information

Three top staff members for Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth were placed under investigation regarding leaks of sensitive information.

They were escorted out of the Pentagon and placed on administrative leave, suspended pending outcome of the investigation. They are:

  • Darin Selnick, Pentagon Deputy Chief of Staff
  • Dan Caldwell, a senior adviser to Hegseth
  • Colin Carroll, Chief of Staff to Deputy Defense Secretary Stephen Feinberg

Leaks involved reportedly involved military plans for the Panama canal, a second carrier going to the Red Sea, Elon Musk’s visit to the Pentagon at which he was originally reported to be set to receive sensitive information about military plans in the event of conflict with China, and pausing the USA’s supply of intelligence to Ukraine.

In the infamous Signal chat about a USA military attack in Yemen, Hegseth named Caldwell as the primary contact at the Pentagon about the operation.

Selnick was senior adviser to Concerned Veterans for America when Hegseth was in charge there.
