Merit Systems Protection Board Finds At Least Some of DJT’s Mass Firings of Federal Workers are Unlawful

The Merit Systems Protection Board issued a decision that at least some of Donald Trump’s mass firings of probationary period employees are unlawful.

This may open the door for many fired federal workers, the vast majority of whom were probationary, to be reinstated in their jobs.

The ruling in the case was not publicly released. The decision involved six employees at six different agencies. Although the scope is limited to those agencies, it could affect all the workers fired from the six agencies. It could also become a precedent for the rest of the government.

Hampton Dellinger, the head of OSC, was fired from his job by Trump’s regime and was reinstated by a federal District Court judge after he sued. The Merit Systems Protection Board took up the case of the six fired workers at OSC’s request.
