Judge Expands Order Blocking Transfer of Transgender Women to Men’s Prisons

Federal District Court Judge Royce Lamberth issued a preliminary injunction to block the transfer of 12 transgender women to men’s prisons.

This is an escalation from a previous temporary restraining order that blocked such a transfer for three transgender women. Nine more have joined the pertinent lawsuit against being sent to men’s prisons and having their gender-affirming medical care halted under Donald Trump’s executive order 14168.
