Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s Wife Has to Move to a Safe House After Government Posts Her Address Online

Jennifer Vasquez Sura, the wife of Kilmar Abrego Garcia who was wrongly deported to El Salvador, had to move with her three children to a safe house after the government posted a court document with her address in it on social media.

The Department of Homeland Security posted to its 2.4 million followers on X (formerly Twitter) a protective order from 2021 in which her address showed. The order came about after her husband struck her. She dissolved it a month later and says they worked out their issues. She calls it a one-time episode.

She told the Washington Post:

I don’t feel safe when the government posts my address, the house where my family lives, for everyone to see, especially when this case has gone viral and people have all sorts of opinions. So, this is definitely a bit terrifying. I’m scared for my kids.

DHS was unapologetic, telling The Independent “these are public documents that anyone could get access to.” The government has been trying to insinuate that Abrego Garcia is some type of criminal, but it has not attempted to submit any such allegations in court.
