Judge Orders DOGE Testimony Under Oath

| 0

Federal District Court Judge John Bates ordered Donald Trump’s regime to provide testimony and information regarding a lawsuit to block DOGE from accessing systems at the Labor Department, Health and Human Service Department and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Bates ordered the government to provide witnesses to give depositions, provide records and respond to questions. His order included specifying that Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, a subset of a White House IT team rather than a government department, must provide someone to be deposed under oath about the structure of DOGE, the nature of its authority, and the work it is doing.

Among the many lawsuits in process against Trump’s regime, this is the first to reach the discovery phase, in which the government must provide information demanded by the plaintiffs.
