Judge Blocks Transfer of Transgender Prisoner to Men’s Prison

Federal District Judge George O’Toole (Boston) issued a temporary restraining order barring transfer of a transgender inmate to a men’s prison under a Donald Trump executive order.

The executive order also would have stopped the inmate’s gender-affirming medication.

The legal challenge was filed by GLAD Law on behalf of the inmate aliased in court filings as Marie Moe. It is the first against the executive order of 20 January declaring there are only two sexes, that sex is unchangeable and therefore all accommodations and treatments contrary to his declaration are banned.
