House Democrats Launch Probe of DOJ Decision to Drop Charges Against Eric Adams

Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee launched an investigation into whether the Department of Justice decision to drop corruption charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams involved a quid pro quo to get his help with federal immigration raids.

Prosecutors resigned rather than sign the request for dismissal of charges, until Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove put those who remained in a room and set a deadline by which one of them must agree to do it or they would all be fired.

The court has not yet decided whether to grant the request for dismissal.
