Hamas Indefinitely Suspends Release of Hostages, Alleging Ceasefire Violations

Hamas suspended further release of hostages indefinitely, saying the ceasefire deal has been violated.

Hamas had been releasing hostages partly for prisoner exchange and partly to have a voice in shaping Gaza’s future. The group no longer trusts the word of Israel or the USA with leaders in both of those countries making provocative declarations.

The three week old ceasefire could break down. Israel put its  military on alert with orders to prepare for “any scenario in Gaza.”
