FL Attorney General Opens Investigation into Tate Brothers

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier opened a criminal investigation into brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate, who flew to Florida last week after Donald Trump pressured Romania into allowing them to leave ahead of their trial there.

The Tate brothers are misogynistic social media influencers with dual USA-UK citizenship and are ardent Trump supporters. Trump and some of his inner circle are vocal in condemning Romania’s treatment of them.

Romania has charged the brothers with rape, sex with a minor, people trafficking and money laundering. The brothers were under house arrest there, and then allowed out and about but not allowed to travel, until Trump intervened.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has publicly said the brothers are not welcome in his state.

Uthmeier said, “These guys have themselves publicly admitted to participating in what very much appears to be soliciting, trafficking, preying upon women around the world. Many of these victims are coming forward, some of them minors. People can spin or defend however they want, but in Florida, this type of behavior is viewed as atrocious. We’re not going to accept it.”
