Federal Government Takes $80 million from NYC Financial Accounts
New York City Comptroller Brad Lander discovered the federal government drained $80 million from the city’s financial accounts.
The money was disbursed by FEMA to cover housing of asylum seekers sent to NYC by the federal government.
Elon Musk’s team turned out to have access to Treasury Department payment systems sufficient to create such transactions after purporting to have only read access. Musk claimed the money was being wasted on luxury hotel accommodations for asylum seekers but did not indicate he had any evidence to back up his claim.
