DJT Strips Shield from Immigration Arrests at Places of Sanctuary
Donald Trump signed an executive order rescinding protected status from places of worship, schools and health care facilities
Under this order, Immigration & Customs Enforcement and Customs & Border Protection can enter and make arrests in places that were previously sanctuaries. Previously, government policy did not allow such arrests in places where “children gather, disaster or emergency relief sites, and social services establishments” so that immigration enforcement would not encroach at or near a location where people access essential services or activities.
