DJT Revokes Security Clearance of Law Firm Perkins Coie

| 0

Donald Trump signed an executive order to revoke the security clearances of law firm Perkins Coie, restrict access to federal buildings by attorneys of the firm, cancel existing federal contracts with the firm and accuse the firm of sex and race based discrimination due to its diversity, equity and inclusion policies.

Perkins Coie hired Fusion GPS to conduct opposition research on then-candidate Trump’s potential ties to Russia during the 2016 Presidential election campaign. Fusion GPS in turn hired former UK spy Christopher Steele who produced the now-infamous Steele Dossier, which concluded that Russia had compromising material about Trump and was working to help him win the election.

A Senate investigation has since concluded similarly.

Hiring of Fusion GPS was arranged by Marc Elias as a partner at Perkins Coie and an attorney for Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Elias has since gone into private practice.
