Musk Wants Massive Privatization Starting with USPS, Amtrak and Social Security
Elon Musk wants the federal government to privatize everything it can, starting with the U.S. Postal Service, Amtrak and Social Security.
This comes shortly after he muscled his company Starlink into the Federal Aviation Administration, aiming to take over Verizon’s $2+ billion contract to upgrade FAA communications with fiber optic lines and replace that with less stable communications through his satellites.
The Postal Service is mentioned in the Constitution, which makes removing it from government problematic. USPS is required by law to provide postal delivery services to every address. Private carriers are not.
Musk has slammed Amtrak as slow and inefficient, and incorrectly called Social Security a Ponzi scheme.
