DJT Pardons and Commutes Convictions for January 2021 Attack on Capitol

Donald Trump signed an executive order granting a “full, complete and unconditional pardon” to nearly all people charged with attacking the national Capitol on 6 January 2021.

In addition to these pardons for about 1500 people, he commuted the sentences of 14 leaders from the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys who were convicted of seditious conspiracy.

The Department of Justice immediately took steps to drop pending cases in regard to the attack on the Capitol.
