DJT Declares National Border Emergency

| 0

Donald Trump signed an executive order declaring a national emergency at the southern border with Mexico, and related orders pertaining to immigrants and the border.

This order came despite a sharp drop in unauthorized crossings of the border during the six months prior to his inauguration, due to Biden’s crackdown on access.

Declaring a national emergency allows a President to wield emergency powers. He may send military troops to the southern border.

Alongside this order, he issued another to resume construction of a wall along the USA border with Mexico, and another to declare drug cartels are terrorist organizations. He cancelled federal efforts to reunite families he separated at the southern border during his first term in office. He continued to promise mass deportations, and publicly said a few weeks ago that if this would break up a family, he will deport the entire family including USA citizens within it.
