DJT Declares National Energy Emergency

Donald Trump signed an executive order declaring a national energy emergency to restart paused gas exports, undo restrictions on drilling in Alaska, and generally boost the USA’s already booming fossil fuel industry.

This order utilizes the National Emergencies Act to claim emergency powers for the Trump. The Defense Production Act may also be invoked to enable Trump to order industry to increase production.

The full scale of what he will do is not yet clear.
