DJT Calls for Impeachment of Judge Who Ruled Against Deportations

| 0

Donald Trump publicly called for the impeachment of federal District Court Judge James Boasberg, who issued a two week temporary restraining order against mass deportation of Venezuelan immigrants using wartime powers.

In that case, Trump deported more than 200 Venezuelan immigrants to a notorious prison in El Salvador without due process. Two flights were in the air and were not turned around after Boasberg issued his TRO. A third reportedly departed after the TRO was issued. Boasberg is holding hearings to try to determine whether the government definitely acted in contempt of the court.

Boasberg is the chief judge for federal District Court in Washington, D.C. As such, he presided over some grand jury proceedings which led to criminal charges against Trump for his efforts to subvert the 2020 Presidential election. He also presided over some grand jury proceedings regarding the criminal case against Trump for keeping classified documents at Mar-a-Lago, his Florida estate.
