Democrat Keishan Scott Wins SC State House Seat in a Landslide

| 0

Democrat Keishan Scott won a special election by a 71% to 29% landslide over Republican Bill Oden to become the youngest member of the state House of Representatives.

Oden is a former chair of the county’s Republican party. Scott is on Bishopville City Council.

Scott is 24 years old. Republicans still hold a supermajority in the state House. The state as a whole went for Donald Trump in November 2024 by 18 percentage points. But Kamala Harris narrowly prevailed in District 50, which makes the swing to a landslide for Scott breathtaking.
