Current and Former USAID Employees Sue Elon Musk

A group of current and former employees of U.S. Agency for International Development sued Elon Musk and his DOGE, saying the unprecedented power Musk wields requires Senate confirmation he does not have.

The Department of Government Efficiency is not a government department. It is a subset of a White House IT team. Musk and DOGE have been rampaging through federal agencies, slashing funding, cancelling contracts, putting personnel on administrative leave or terminating their jobs on a mass basis, and bypassing normal protocols and security to intrude into computer systems. Attempts at Congressional oversight have been turned aside, sometimes by guards in uniforms that are not federal.
