Citizens in Parkersburg WV Defend Bureau of Fiscal Service

Having heard Elon Musk’s DOGE intended to invade the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, more than 150 people rallied and marched around the buildings on the day of the expected intrusion.

The Department of Government Efficiency is a subset of a White House IT team. DOGE has been taking over federal IT systems, accessing sensitive data on practically every person and many businesses, and gaining privileges to change software and data.

The Bureau of the Fiscal Service is part of the Department of the Treasury. It was created by Congress and its dissolution should require an act of Congress. DOGE already penetrated most of the Treasury Department’s largest, most sensitive systems. Court battles are in progress about that intrusion.
