Judge Vargas Denies DJT Request to Lift Injunction Against DOGE Access to Treasury

District Court Judge Jeannette Vargas denied the new regime’s request to set aside District Court Judge Engelmayer’s temporary restraining order. DOGE remains prohibited from accessing Treasury Department systems before a hearing scheduled on Friday.

The Department of Government Efficiency is a subset of a White House IT team, not a government department. Englemayer’s order specifies some carve-outs and Vargas issues some further clarifications.

On Friday, Vargas will hear arguments regarding Constitutional issues in the case that led to the TRO. The lawsuit was brought by 19 state Attorneys General.
