Canada Begins Retaliation Against USA Tariffs

| 0

Retaliation to tariffs imposed by Donald Trump on goods Canada exports to the USA began immediately from provinces and individuals. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau set retaliatory 25% tariffs nationally and broadcast a video message directly to Americans.

The USA’s tariffs are 25% on many Canadian goods and 10% on oil.

British Columbia in Canada ordered B.C. Liquor to stop buying from “red states” in the USA and pull existing stock from there off the shelves.

Nova Scotia took similar action, and will “limit procurement” from USA businesses, cancel contracts with USA businesses where feasible, and double the toll for commercial vehicles coming in through the Cobequid Pass from the USA.

Individual Canadians began posting on social media in detail about ways in which they have already pivoted their buying to focus on Canadian goods and avoid everything from the USA that they can.
