Hegseth Halts Pentagon Cyber Security Attention to Russia

| 0

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth ordered a halt to the Pentagon’s cyber security work pertinent to Russia.

Hegseth’s order went to General Timothy Haugh, head of Cyber Command. It is expected to include Air Force Cyber Forces, which handles digital operations in United States European Command. This may affect critical Pentagon missions such as support for Ukraine.

This order does not apply to National Security Agency (NSA), which Hogue also leads.

Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), which deals with threats in cyberspace against USA infrastructure, had been told earlier not to follow or report on threats from Russia any more.
