White House Tells State and Treasury Departments to Plan Easing of Sanctions Against Russia

Donald Trump’s White House ordered the State Department and Treasury Department to prepare to ease sanctions against Russia.

Trump can end some of the sanctions by executive order, but there are other sanctions that can only be lifted with Congressional approval.

It is not clear what Trump might ask from Russia in return, or whether he plans to ask for anything in return.
