VA Fires 1000+ Probationary Employees
The Department of Veterans Affairs fired more than 1000 probationary employees who had been in their jobs less than two years.
The fired workers were deemed not mission critical. However, for several years the VA has had staffing shortages. The VA has about 43,000 probationary employees.
