Dept of Energy Struggles to Undo DOGE’s Firing of Nuclear Experts

The National Nuclear Safety Administration is trying to rehire some of the nuclear experts fired by Elon Musk’s DOGE in a staggering screw-up.

The Department of Government Efficiency is a subset of a White House IT team, not an actual government department. When DOGE fired the nuclear experts, it reportedly did not realize workers in an agency with “nuclear safety” in its name oversee nuclear weapons.

The agency is attempting to rescind the firings.
