USA Ends Support for UN Program on HIV/AIDS

Peter Marocco, a Donald Trump devotee torching U.S. Agency for International Development, send a letter to the United Nations announcing cutoff of USA funding for the UN program on HIV/AIDS.

Marocco’s letter said this is “for the convenience of the US government.” Trump’s regime already froze foreign assistance in general, which has derailed HIV treatment around the world. The USA provided two-thirds of funding for HIV prevention in low and middle income countries. including through the President’s Emergency Plan for Aids Relief (PEPFAR) founded by George W Bush in 2003.

Terminating AIDS treatment even briefly, which Trump has now caused on a large scale in many countries, allows the virus not only to take advantage against the patient but also opens the door for drug-resistant versions of the virus to emerge and spread in the population.
