Univ of California Student Association Sues Dept of Education
The University of California Student Association sued the Department of Education in federal District Court for illegally sharing personal financial data with Elon Musk’s DOGE.
The Department of Government Efficiency is a subset of a White House IT team, not a government department. It has gained deep access into major federal computer systems, bypassing normal protocols.
The lawsuit asserts DOGE’s access to sensitive Education Department data about students and student finances violates the Federal Privacy Act of 1974.
