Ukraine’s Opposition Talked with DJT Representatives

Ukraine’s opposition leaders secretly talked with representatives of Donald Trump, but say they are not plotting with the White House to oust Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Former President Petro Poroshenko and former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said they are opposed to Trump’s insistence on a wartime election. Ukraine’s constitution does not allow elections while martial law is in force.

Trump’s team wanted to remove Zelenskyy from office. They thought Zelenskyy would lose in an election. Zelenskyy is popular in Ukraine and has become more so since Trump and Vance verbally and publicly attacked him in the Oval Office.
