Stepson of Sheriff’s Deputy Uses Her Weapon for Mass Shooting at Florida State University

The stepson of a sheriff’s deputy used her former service weapon to kill two employees and wound six other people in a mass shooting at the student union of Florida State University in Tallahassee.

The 20 year old shooter Phoenix Ikner was shot and arrested. He has long been a member of the youth advisory council for the Sheriff’s office and took part in various training.

The handgun he used was a former service weapon of his stepmother, Sheriff’s Deputy Jessica Ikner. The sheriff describes her as a model officer.

Some people at FSU are survivors of the infamous mass shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School. A few were in the student union when this shooting occurred.
