State Department Plans to Spend $400 million on Tesla “Armored” Vehicles

| 0

The State Department’s budget planning includes a five year $400 million contract to buy “armored” electric vehicles from Elon Musk’s company Tesla.

Although the vehicle model is not specified in the plans, the only model Musk has described as “armored” is the cybertruck.

Elon Musk’s DOGE team has deep access into federal IT systems, allowing him to see confidential information about competitors. DOGE is cancelling and cutting contracts and payments to organizations other than Musk’s, and has hamstrung agencies that were investigating his companies for regulatory noncompliance.

Although the name Tesla was removed from the planning document after public outcry, the line item for “armored electric vehicles” remains.
