South Korea Removes President Yoon Suck Yeol from Office

The Constitutional Court of South Korea in a unanimous decision removed Yoon Suk Yeol from the Presidency just four months after he attempted to seize full control by declaring martial law and was impeached for it.

An election will be held within two months to choose his successor.

Yoon’s public statement after the court’s ruling did not go so far as to accept the verdict. His party, the People Power Party, did accept the verdict.
