Social Security Declares 6300 Immigrants Dead to Cancel Work Eligibility and Force Them to Leave

The Social Security Administration declared about 6100 living immigrants as dead to cancel their ability to work or receive benefits, pushing them to deport themselves.

Even though by law Social Security numbers are not supposed to be used for identification, in reality it will be almost impossible for the immigrants to continue to hold a legitimate job, or use bank accounts or any other services that typically require SSNs.

If they switch to working in the grey economy where payment is often in cash under the table, it will be almost impossible for them to adhere to all tax laws, providing a separate pretext for the government to deport them, especially now that the Internal Revenue Service has agreed to provide confidential sensitive taxpayer data to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

In February senior officials within SSA warned that the Death Master File, a database of death records, was not secure enough and did not require proof of death to be edited. The regime used this weakness to move the records of targeted immigrants to the database about dead people, rendering their legally obtained SSNs invalid.

The White House claimed all the immigrants affected are connected with terrorists or are criminals, which does not appear to be true. They include children aged 13, 14 and 16 (two of those), one person in their 80s and a few in their 70s. None of the youngest have criminal histories. It is not clear what criteria were actually used to decide which immigrants to “kill off” this way or whether any procedures were in place to make sure citizens were not “killed off” too.

Declaring someone no longer dead within the Social Security systems is difficult and time consuming.

Intentionally misclassifying living people as dead is falsification of government records. People misclassified as dead also lose privacy protections to which they are legally entitled. Experts say the deliberate incorrect categorization done by the regime is illegal.

The system contains data fields that would do everything DOGE wants if they understood the software and databases they are manipulating. By merely editing data in those fields, they can deactivate a SSN, embargo payments to it, and flag any activity with the SSN such as attempts to get a card or reactivate the number. Instead, DOGE contaminated the death data with thousands of living people.
Immigration agents want to use these files to hunt immigrants. When they try to use the files, many of their targets will be marked dead alongside genuinely dead beneficiaries, with no easy way to tell which dead people are actually still alive.

This move closely follows the sudden invalidation of temporary protected status, called parole, for immigrants who entered legally through the CBP One app during the Biden administration. It also follows revocation of parole for hundreds of thousands of immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela, which is currently being contested in court.

This move also follows a change in policy that makes legal immigrants visit a Social Security field office in person to get their SSNs assigned instead of more simply having them issued by Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Two days after the targeted immigrants were deliberately and falsely recorded as dead in Social Security data, security guards escorted Greg Pearre out of his office at SSA. As a senior executive he oversaw hundreds of SSA IT workers. Resisting the action, he told new CIO Scott Coulter (recently installed by Elon Musk) that it would be illegal as well as cruel and having the potential to hit people other than those the regime intended. He was put on administrative leave, possibly ending his 25 year career.

The day Pearre was ejected from SSA, the agency added 102 more living immigrants to the Master Death File.
