Presidential Citizens Medals Awarded

President Joe Biden awarded the Presidential Citizens Medal to twenty Americans.This medal is for people “who have performed exemplary deeds of service for their country or their fellow citizens.” Recipients were from both major political parties. They included civil rights leaders, gun safety advocates, women’s health advocates, military personnel (for a variety of non-combat efforts), and the chair and vice chair of the January 6th Committee (Representative Bennie Thompson (D-MS) and former representative Liz Cheney (R-WY)).
