PBS Sues DJT to Block Executive Order that Strips Federal Funding

| 0

The Public Broadcasting System filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump’s executive order targeting it, calling his actions “blatant viewpoint discrimination” violating PBS’ First Amendment rights as well as breaching laws that “forbid the President from serving as the arbiter of the content of PBS’s programming, including by attempting to defund PBS.”

The PBS lawsuit comes within days after a similar lawsuit by National Public Radio.

Trump’s executive order to strip public broadcasters of federal funding came after he tried to fire members of the board of directors for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which is now the subject of another lawsuit.
