One Month Pause in USA Tariffs on Mexico Announced

| 0

Donald Trump and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced a one month pause in implementation of USA tariffs on imports from Mexico.

Both countries gave up something. Mexico will commit 10,000 of its national guard troops to help reduce drug traffic across the border into the USA. These are essentially the troops Mexico sent to the border in 2021 after quiet negotiations with the Biden administration, so Mexico’s action is nothing new. The USA will work to stop high powered firearms traffic across the border into Mexico.

The tariffs were due to take effect 4 February 2025 and are now delayed to 4 March.
