National Health Agencies Muzzled

All external communications by the Department of Health and Human Services halted. Affected divisions include but are not limited to the Food and Drug Administration, National Institutes of Health (NIH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC, and Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

This comes close on the heels of a significant outbreak of H5N1 avian flu in Georgia. The CDC would normally step into such an outbreak but is now forbidden to say anything about it.
