Musk Falsely Says DOGE Cutoff of Anti-Ebola Funds is Restored

At Donald Trump’s first Cabinet meeting, Elon Musk told the Cabinet that his DOGE cut off support for preventing the spread of Ebola by mistake. He then said support was restored with no interruption, neither part of which was true.

Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency is a subset of a White House IT team, not a government department. Trump’s regime usually credits Musk with leading it but officially says Amy Gleason leads it. Musk was the only person in the room with no official role to justify his presence.

His decimation of USAID led to the cutoff of anti-Ebola support. Some of it has been restored, but only a small portion. His assertion that no interruption occurred was simply a lie.
