MSNBC Mass Layoffs Make Its Lineup More White

MSNBC announced mass layoffs, including 99 members of the WGA East union involved in 9 shows. A quick look at photos of the highest-profile people cut from the network showed predominantly non-white and female faces.

Andrea Mitchell Reports
Ayman Mohyeldin Reports
Weekends With Jonathan Capehart
The Katie Phang Show
Jose Diaz-Balart Reports
Inside With Jen Psaki

Joy Reid and Alex Wagner were removed from the prime time lineup. Jen Psaki, who is white, was moved into prime time.

MSNBC announced that workers being laid off who want to continue working for the network, such as producers, must reapply for jobs. They will not be reassigned.

Rachel Maddow vocally criticized the layoffs in her show on MSNBC. Somehow that footage aired. Her team is being reduced.

Sunday night Donald Trump raged against MSNBC on social media. Joy Reid was one of his named targets.
