Medicaid Payment Portals Down for All States

| 0

Medicaid payments portals went down nationwide several hours before scheduled start of the OMB’s pause of federal payments and despite OMB’s statement that Medicaid would not be affected.

The OMB’s announced freeze of most federal payments was due to begin 28 January 2025 at 17:00. Shortly before that time, a federal judge issued a temporary order to block the freeze while the court considers legal action against it. By then, Medicaid payment portals had been unavailable across the country all day. The White House called this an “outage,” claimed payments would not be affected even though inability to access the portals halted activity, and would not say it was related to the funding halt.

Some states began to be able to access Medicaid portals again late in the night.
