Judge Refuses to Pause Order to Retrieve Kilmar Abrego Garcia from El Salvador

Federal District Court Judge Paula Xinis re-ordered Donald Trump’s regime to retrieve wrongly expelled Kilmar Abrego Garcia from El Salvador by 7 April 2025 at 23:59.

Xinis said, “As defendants acknowledge, they had no legal authority to arrest him, no justification to detain him, and no grounds to send him to El Salvador — let alone deliver him into one of the most dangerous prisons in the Western Hemisphere. Having confessed grievous error, the defendants now argue that this Court lacks the power to hear this case, and they lack the power to order Abrego Garcia’s return.”

Xinis’ reinforcement of her order to retrieve Abrego Garcia emphasizes that she had no patience for the government’s stance that it can’t retrieve Abrego Garcia because he is no longer in the USA’s custody.
