Judge Orders Temporary Unfreezing of Foreign Aid

Federal District Court Judge Amir Ali issued a temporary injunction requiring Donald Trump to restore foreign aid funding he froze while litigation is heard.

Ali prohibited the State Department and Office of Management and Budget from cancelling foreign aid contracts or ordering work stoppages on foreign aid while the injunction is in effect. He described the government’s actions regarding foreign aid as “arbitrary and capricious.” Courts are allowed to block such actions under the Administrative Procedure Act.
