Judge Orders Colorado’s Elizabeth School District to Restore Banned Books to Shelves

Federal District Court Judge Charlotte Sweeney ordered Elizabeth School District to restore to school library shelves 19 banned books.

This is the second time Sweeney has issued this order. On 25 March 2025, she paused the deadline on her order after the district formally objected to returning the books to its libraries. Now she has reissued the order after reconsidering the issue. She set a deadline of 17:00 on 5 April 2025.
