Judge Extends Order Keeping OSC Chief in Job Until Saturday

| 0

Federal District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson extended until Saturday her temporary restraining order prohibiting the firing of Hampton Dellinger, head of the Office of Special Counsel.

Jackson is considering a permanent injunction.

OSC enforces the Hatch Act, which disallows federal workers from engaging in certain partisan political activities, and shields federal whistleblowers. Donald Trump’s regime has taken its efforts to remove the head of OSC in the middle of his term all the way to the Supreme Court. Last week SCOTUS issued an unsigned order affirming that Dellinger could remain at his job until the initial TRO was set to expire. It is not clear whether Trump will appeal to SCOTUS again.
